Sundays in our house are dedicated to football. Ryan is a Jets fan and I am a Bills fan, but we both can agree on what good wings are. These wings are amazing!
Chicken wings frozen or unfrozen
Franks Red Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce
1/2 stick of butter
Pure Vegetable Oil
Preheat oven to 375. Make sure to have wings defrosted. Follow the instructions on the bag of wings you buy. Some have you defrost over night. If you need to quickly defrost, I put them in a ziplock bag and put them in a bowl of cold water and let them defrost. Took about 2 hours.
1 Pat the wings dry. They must be dry for this to work.
2 Lay them out on a cookie sheet. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder and cayenne pepper. I did not measure out my seasonings. I just used my best judgement when shaking it on.
3 Place in oven for 20 minutes. Flip at the 10 minute mark to get both sides cooking.
4 Heat the vegetable oil on high for about 5 8 minutes. The oil needs to be sizzling.
5 While the oil heats up, start the sauce. You can judge all of this based on how you like your sauce. I did about a 1/2 bottle of the buffalo sauce and 1/2 stick of butter. I started by letting the butter melt and then added in the sauce. I let it simmer for about 10 minutes and then put in some additional garlic powder and fresh pepper.
6 Place the wings in the oil and let them fry for about 10 minutes. This all will depend on how crispy you want them. I also continuously flipped them to make sure all sides were cooking.
7 Remove wings and place them on a paper towel so that the oil can drain a bit.
8 Place wings in a bowl and top with the sauce.
