Shepherd's Pie in a casserole dish

I know this recipe for Shepherds Pie is far from the traditional way it was made. This is my version that my family loves and that we have been making for years. Its so simple to make and its a recipe that the entire family will eat.

How to make Shepherds Pie:

Step one: Get started by preparing your oven and preheat it to 375 degrees. Next prepare your 913 casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray and then set aside.

Step two: Next prepare your mashed potatoes. Peel and dice potatoes. Add to a large pot and cover with water. Bring water to a boil and cook potatoes until cooked through and tender.

Step three: Drain water then place potatoes back into your pot. Mash potatoes with a masher then add in milk, butter, and salt and pepper to taste. Add more milk as needed.

  • Tip: For a quicker meal you can use instant mashed potatoes instead of making homemade.

Step four: Now cook and crumble your ground beef. Once cooked then drain fat and season with onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. You can add more or less seasoning to taste.
